Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton is mourning the loss of his pet dog Roscoe.

On Instagram, the Ferrari driver shared some photos of himself with his beloved 12-year-old English Bulldog along with a heartfelt message.

“After four days on life support, fighting with every bit of strength he had, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe,” Lewis wrote.

“He never stopped fighting, right until the very end. I feel so grateful and honoured to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and true friend,” he added.

Lewis also shared that having Roscoe in his life was the best decision he ever made and that he will forever cherish the memories they created together.

According to the race car driver, putting Roscoe to sleep is “one of the most painful experiences” he has ever felt in his life.

“I feel a deep connection to everyone who has gone through the loss of a beloved pet. Although it was so hard, having him was one of the most beautiful parts of life, to love so deeply and to be loved in return,” he added.

Ending his post, Lewis thanked everyone who showed love and support to Roscoe through the years.

In a previous post, Lewis posted a photo of Roscoe in the hospital, saying that his beloved dog fell into a coma after catching pneumonia again.

According to Lewis, Roscoe died “in his arms” on September 28.

Aside from Roscoe, Lewis has another dog named Coco, which died in 2020.
