The Studio Behind Absolum's Gorgeous Art Is Now Producing an Animated TV Adaptation 1

Publisher Dotemu and studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks are soon to release Absolum, the roguelite beat-’em-up with a great hand-drawn style.

The latter team is responsible for that art direction as well as the game’s animation, and it’s always lookd impressive in trailers.

Well, we hope you aren’t tired of it, because Supamonks is also working on an Absolum animated TV series.

In a press release, the adaptation will build upon the lore and universe established in the game while “staying true to the essence” of it.

“We are particularly excited about making this animated series because Supamonks has been involved in the Absolum project since its inception,” says Supamonks CEO Julien Bagnol-Roy. “Our teams have helped shape this universe right from the very start, and being able to now transform it into an animated series feels like a logical and exciting next step in our work. It is a unique opportunity to add a new dimension to a world we already know so well.”

There are no other details about the TV show at this point; we imagine it’s very early in its production, given that the game itself is yet to release.

Absolum launches on 9th October for PS5 and PS4, and now fans can also look forward to an animated series as well.
