Nominee: Lerryan Douglas def. Cam Teague at DWCS 81

Lerryan Douglas had the UFC Apex spectators on their feet and Cam Teague on the ground after his sure-thing contract-earning knockout vs. Cam Teague.

It only took 36 seconds for Douglas (13-5) to topple Teague (9-2) with a vicious left hook. The knockout blow came in a sequence when Teague was in pure survival mode. Teague was knocked down quickly and scrambled back to his feet. When his back hit the cage, a charging Douglas drove his fist directly into Teague’s face.

Nominee: Alexander Hernandez def. Diego Ferreira at UFC Fight Night 259

Alexander Hernandez continued his momentum in a big way with a highlight finish of Diego Ferreira in their lightweight bout.

Hernandez (18-8 MMA, 10-7 UFC) made it five straight octagon victories at 155 pounds when he dropped Ferreira (19-7 MMA, 10-7 UFC) with a huge punch then swarmed with ground-and-pound. It could’ve been waved off multiple times, but the referee allowed Ferreira to take a beating before intervening at the 3:46 mark of Round 2.

Nominee: Iwo Baraniewski def. Mahamed Aly via punches at DWCS 82

Iwo Baraniewski was the biggest betting underdog in his DWCS card, and he needed just 20 seconds to score a stunning knockout of Mahamed Aly.

Baraniewski (6-0) timed a perfect overhand right during one of the opening exchanges of the light heavyweight contest, putting Aly (4-1) down and badly hurt. A few more shots sealed the deal for the lightning-fast finish.

Nominee: Carlos Ulberg def. Dominick Reyes at UFC Fight Night 260

Carlos Ulberg crushed Dominick Reyes and did so within one round to put himself in line for a UFC light heavyweight division.

A short 1-2 combination, and particularly the 2, which was a right hand, floored Reyes (15-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) after a feeling-out process. Ulberg (12-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) then shot downward with another pair of hard punches as the referee dove in, giving the New Zealander his ninth straight win.

The winner: Diego Lopes def. Jean Silva at UFC Fight Night 259

Diego Lopes got back on track when he halted the momentum of Jean Silva in one of the most thrilling fights of the years.

After losing a vacant featherweight title fight against Alexander Volkanovski in April, Lopes (27-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) capped off the third annual Noche UFC celebration in spectacular fashion when he stopped Silva (16-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) with a spinning elbow TKO finish.

Lopes nearly finished Silva with ground-and-pound in the opening round, but then in the second Silva turned the tide and inflicted some serious damage. Just when he got too eager and aggressive, though, Silva walked into the spinning elbow and went down, allowing Silva to land a few more punches and seal the deal.
