The WTA Tour calendar roars on this week with the China Open, which has already concluded on the ATP Tour.
Jannik Sinner won the China Open in Beijing to claim his third title of the 2025 season and the 21st of his stunning career so far.
Italian ace Sinner defeated Learner Tien in the final, with the American rising star having played out his first ATP Tour final.
There was similar heartbreak for his compatriot Taylor Fritz in Tokyo, with the American losing the Japan Open final to Carlos Alcaraz.
But American tennis fans can take great confidence from the fine displays of the two finalists throughout the tournaments, with Fritz and Tien now being followed by many American women at the China Open.

The China Open has reached the quarterfinal stage on the WTA Tour, with American women really dominating.
Indeed, four of the eight quarterfinalists in Beijing were American; Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova and Emma Navarro.

That number will, however, be reduced after this stage given that Navarro and Pegula will meet for a semifinal spot.
Navarro does, however, deserve a particular shoutout after battling past top seed Iga Swiatek, which included winning the final set 6-0.
Gauff meanwhile takes on Eva Lys as she looks to defend her China Open title, while Anisimova meets Jasmine Paolini.
American players enjoying season to remember on the WTA Tour
It’s been a somewhat frustrating season for Americans on the ATP Tour, with their shortcomings in stark contrast to their WTA counterparts.
But Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz can take plenty of credit in that regard, proving unstoppable once more.
They combined to win each of the four Grand Slams this season, a feat the European duo also achieved in 2024.

But American women have more than held their own on the biggest stage, with Madison Keys kicking the season off by lifting the Australian Open trophy.
Her compatriot Gauff quickly followed suit by winning the French Open, while Anisimova then reached the finals of both Wimbledon and the US Open.
The celebrations can continue with further success this week, although there is already reason to celebrate.
Anisimova, Keys and Pegula are all impressively in the WTA top 10, along with Gauff, who has additionally already qualified for the WTA Finals Riyadh.
