The Sault Family Health Organization is seeking a new medical assistant to room patients in a family medicine office. The successful applicant will assist with clinic flow through the office. This will require interactions with patients including greeting, directing into appropriate examination rooms, and preparing patients for their appointments.

● vital signs on each patient in the examination room/auto cuffs provided
● Ensure patients are prepared for the required examination.
● Clean examination rooms between patients.
● Prepare examination rooms according to patient visit description.
● Coordinate with physicians to maintain an organized and efficient patient flow through the clinic.
● At the physician(s) direction, contact patients with results and/or other medical information.
● Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Education and/or Work Experience

The successful applicant will possess:
● Knowledge of Personal Health Information Protection Act regulations.
● The ability to maintain confidentiality.
● The ability to work effectively with others.
● The ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
● Excellent verbal communication skills.
● A post-secondary school education.

Responsibilities and Duties

Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
Measure and record each patient’s height and weight prior to their appointment time.

Direct patients into the appropriate examination room in a timely and organized manner
Experience in a healthcare setting or service-based industry is an assent.

Working Conditions

The position involves working within an indoor office environment in a full-time capacity.
Work involves some evenings until 8pm. May involve an occasional Saturday
On-Site training provided

The successful candidate will report directly to the Family Physicians at the Sault Family Health Organization.
