The contract comes with an average annual value of $3 million.

Evangelista, 23, scored 10 goals and finished with 32 points in 68 games with the Predators a year ago.

The agreement comes after TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported earlier in September that Evangelista had left the team to train on his own in Canada.

However, with the season opener scheduled for Thursday against the Blue Jackets, the two sides were able to come to an agreement and the final restricted free agent of the off-season has agreed to a deal.

The Predators selected Evangelista in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He made his debut with the team two years later.

In 172 career NHL games, the Toronto native has 33 goals and 86 points.
