The Carson High School girls tennis team qualified for the Class 4A North regional tournament, but fell in the opening round to Reno, 17-1.

TIGER GIRLS TENNIS FALLS TO GALENA
The No. 3-seeded Douglas High girls tennis team fell to Galena on Tuesday in the opening round of the Class 4A North regional team tournament, 14-4.
Douglas’ Prairie Jackson won her No. 3 singles set, 6-0.
In doubles, Naomi Mackenzie and Anna Patmont posted wins of 6-3 and 6-1. Mackenzie and Patmont secured an opening round bye in the upcoming individual regional tournament as the No. 7 seed.
Emery Christensen and Kinsey Briscoe grabbed the Tigers’ final points with a 7-5 win in doubles.
The Tigers beat the Grizzlies in the regular season, 10-8.

CARSON VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS DAMONTE IN FOUR
The Carson High volleyball team took down league foe Damonte Ranch on Wednesday in four sets, 16-25, 25-16, 25-20, 28-26.
The win put Carson at 19-5 with a 4-1 record in Class 5A North Sierra League play.

HUG TOPS CARSON BOYS SOCCER
Carson High boys soccer went up against perennial Northern Nevada powerhouse Hug on Wednesday on the road, falling 4-2.
The game was tied, 2-2, at the half.
Tre’Von Reddick tallied the Senators first goal while Dylan Iza scored the second.
UP NEXT: Carson (6-6-1, 4-2 in Class 5A North Sierra League play) will travel to Wooster (9-2-1, 6-0) today for a 12:30 p.m. start. The Colts won the first meeting, 8-3.
GALENA SOCCER POWERS PAST DOUGLAS
The Galena High girls soccer team beat Douglas on Wednesday, 8-0.
On the boys side, the Grizzlies downed the Tigers, 2-0.
UP NEXT: The Douglas girls (2-8-1, 0-5 in Class 4A North Sierra League play) hosted Bishop Manogue (8-2-1, 3-2) on Thursday. The Tigers have no scheduled games next week.
The boys (0-13, 0-7) host Manogue (2-10, 1-5) today at 3:15 p.m.
