WESTBROOK, Maine (WGME) — The oldest bike shop in Maine celebrated a festival dedicated to bikes on Saturday in Westbrook.
Ernie’s Cycle Shop held the third annual “Bike Fest” at Quarryside.
Bike experts offered rides and lessons, as well as e-bike demos, food trucks, music, and raffles.
A BikeFest coordinator says the goal is to make biking more accessible across Maine.
“Right now, we are at a time where people are realizing that cars aren’t the best way to get around all the time, and it’s so easy to do errands, go to school, go to work, either walking or biking,” BikeFest coordinator Paul Drinan said. “We really want to make bike and bike culture more accessible to people.”
Event organizers say the event had a great turnout of bikers and people who wanted to learn more about the bike culture in Maine.
