When you turn 75, it means you can look back at three-quarters of a century of achievements and celebrate them with friends and partners. Marking the 75th anniversary of UAE’s leading luxury retailer, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, cult brand Doxa launches a special edition that brings the brand’s 1973-born SUB 250 into sharp contemporary focus while keeping its tool-watch soul intact. The new Doxa SUB 250 is a compact diver that wears its story on the wrist: Swiss diving heritage meets Dubai’s modern luxury, with a special engraving on the caseback as a quiet signature of intent.

What surprises most is that, if you look at the current catalogue of Doxa, a time-only SUB 250 doesn’t exist. The name was brought back on the map recently, with the mid-size SUB 250 GMT watch, which sits in-between the classic SUB 300 and the smaller SUB 200T in terms of size and water-resistance. This Seddiqi limited edition is thus the first non-GMT SUB 250, making it quite special indeed.

The case comes first, as it should with a purpose-built diver. Milled from a solid block of 316L stainless steel in Doxa’s signature cushion form, it measures 40mm by 42.9mm and stands 11.95mm tall, with crisp planes, well-defined bevels, and a screw-down crown at 3 o’clock. A flat sapphire crystal keeps the profile taut, and the watch remains a true instrument with 250m of water-resistance. Doxa’s patented unidirectional rotating bezel carries a no-decompression scale in black with Eastern Arabic numerals, an immediate cue that this edition has a distinct, place-specific voice. The screw-down caseback bears two statements of purpose: a prominent 75 and the motto Where Legacy Meets Luxury which gives the watch its theme.

A cherry-red sunray finish recalls Dubai’s blazing horizon, setting a vivid field for sand-gold-coloured hands and applied indexes treated with Super-LumiNova for legibility in low light. The date at 3 o’clock uses a disc with Eastern Arabic numerals to mirror the bezel, unifying the display with a culturally resonant touch.

The new Doxa SUB 250 Seddiqi is powered by the automatic Sellita SW300 movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour with a power reserve of approximately 56 hours – an improvement over the ETA 2824 and Sellita SW200 we’ve come to expect from the brand. The movement is finished to Doxa´s specifications and was chosen for reliability and serviceability, exactly what a commemorative tool watch deserves.

The watch is offered on a classic stainless-steel beads-of-rice bracelet with a folding clasp and dive extension, and is supplied with a black FKM rubber strap, also with extension. Limited to 75 individually numbered pieces and available exclusively at Ahmed Seddiqi boutiques, this SUB 250 is not just a dial swap; it’s a model of its own (for now at least). The price is AED 12,000. For more information, visit doxawatches.com and seddiqi.com/75th-anniversary.
