Two dead in single-vehicle collision at McKerrow

Two people died in a single-vehicle collision on Highway 17 at McKerrow on Oct. 5.

At around 3:20 p.m. Oct. 5, members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the OPP responded to a serious single vehicle collision. Two individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene, and one individual was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists attended the scene alongside emergency crews. Highway 17 was closed between Jacklin Road and Sand Bay Road during the on-site investigation. It opened at around 10 p.m., according to Ontario 511.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
