PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard women’s golf rallied in the final two rounds of the Princeton Invitational this weekend to secure a fourth-place finish at the Princeton Invitational. Vanessa Zhang led the team with a score of 213 (E) and a fourth-place finish while earning individual runner-up honors. The Crimson impressed in the second round of the tournament, posting a team score of one-under-par – one of only two teams to shoot under in a round at the tournament.Â
How it HappenedÂ
The Crimson continued its Fall season this weekend with a trip to Springdale Golf Club to compete in the Princeton Invitational. Six different golfers competed for the Crimson this week including Dixon Hill and Sophie Lim who made their collegiate debuts at the tournament.Â
Round one saw the Crimson post a team score of 302 (+18) which put the team in a tie for seventh place after 18 holes. Vanessa Zhang and Iris Wang led the way in the first round by carding rounds of 74 (+3). The duo was followed by Bonnie Zhai and Dixon Hill, who both shot 77(+6) for the Crimson in round one.Â
The second round was Harvard’s best of the tournament and would go down as the second lowest round for a team in the tournament. Paced by round of 69 (-2) from Bonnie Zhai and Lucy Yuan, the Crimson jumped one spot into sixth place after a stellar second round. Zhai posted a career-round-best six birdies in the second 18 holes while Yuan carded four birdies. The other two Crimson scores to count were Vanessa Zhang’s 71 (E) and Iris Wang’s 74 (+3).Â
Zhang continued to play steady golf in the third round, posting a score of 68 (-3) to jump three places into the top five. Zhang finished the tournament at 213 strokes (E), to capture her first top five finish of the season. Sophie Lim shots a 75 (+4) while Bonnie Zhai and Lucy Yuan both posted 76 (+5) to round out the Crimson scoring in the final round. Harvard would continue to rise on the leader board with its scores on Sunday, eventually moving into fourth-place. The Crimson’s best result of the young season, Harvard also defeated three other Ivy League schools in the field with its total of 880 (+28).Â

The Crimson will be back on the course next week when it travels to Connecticut to compete in the 2025 Quinnipiac Classic. The tournament is set for Monday-Tuesday (Oct. 13-14) at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford.Â
