A suspect has been identified after an unprovoked assault in Oshawa left the victim in life-threatening condition.
On Monday around 5:40 p.m, officers responded to a call in the area of Ritson Road North and Taunton Road East where they found a man suffering from obvious signs of trauma.
Witnesses say the victim was crossing the street when the suspect approached him from behind and assaulted him in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack.
The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre, a man was located nearby and arrested without incident.
Police say the victim and accused are not known to one another.
Dwayne Wallen, 33, of Oshawa is charged with Aggravated Assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
