Fox Entertainment Global has tapped Valerie Meraz as Senior Vice President leading content acquisition strategy.
In her new role, Meraz will spearhead sourcing, evaluation and negotiation for content across all formats including scripted, unscripted and film for global distribution. She will report to Prentiss Fraser, President of Fox Entertainment Global.
“We are thrilled to welcome Valerie at such a pivotal moment for our global business,” Fraser said in a statement Thursday. “Her expertise in content strategy and acquisitions will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our catalog and deliver exceptional programming to partners worldwide.”
Prior to Fox, Meraz built a seasoned career as a media executive across premium pay cable, basic cable and digital-first platforms. She previously held leadership roles as WarnerMedia, Showtime and Turner Networks.
Meraz, whose new title is SVP Content & Acquisitions, is the latest hire to the team at Fox Entertainment Global, the international distribution arm of the U.S. broadcaster. Last week, the company also hired former Sony Pictures exec Matt Hanna as SVP Sales, Americas.
