Kochi: Actress Anna Reshma Rajan, popularly known as Lichi from the film Angamaly Diaries, has reacted strongly to a morphed and misleading video circulating on social media that distorts her appearance.
The video in question is an edited version of a clip taken during a public event where the actress appeared in a white saree and blouse. While the original reel had gone viral for its elegance, the altered version has been digitally manipulated to misrepresent her body, leading to outrage and concern from the actress.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the actress expressed both disappointment and concern over the misuse of her image. “Editing skills are wild. This much was unnecessary? Even the original video didn’t get this many views. Still, what’s the point of all this?”
She also issued a public appeal against the spread of fake and inappropriate content, “I request everyone not to promote or spread any kind of fake videos.”
Anna also shared another reel of her enjoying the moment on a hanging bridge. Sharing it on her Instagram story, she captioned “This is the real me.”
A familiar face at public functions and inaugurations, Anna Rajan has often been subjected to online trolling and body-shaming, particularly over her choice of clothing. The actress has consistently handled such incidents with grace.
She made her acting debut as Lichi in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s critically acclaimed film Angamaly Diaries. The character’s name has since become closely associated with her.
