AJ Styles and John Cena put on a show at WWE Crown Jewel, with many fans hailing their match as an instant classic. One WWE Legend also had high praise for the match.
In a recent social media post, WWE Hall of Famer and legend The Undertaker thanked both Cena and Styles for the match. He called the bout a “masterclass” and a “beautiful tribute” to wrestling, and then echoed the words of the crowd at Crown Jewel.
“Thank you [John Cena] and thank you [AJ Styles]. A masterclass and beautiful tribute to wrestling,” said The Undertaker on X. “The [WWE Universe] said it…but that was awesome!”
Cena and Styles battled it out for the last time in front of a raucous crowd in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. The match featured several different iconic spots, including the stars trading finishers back-and-forth, and Cena once again paying tribute to several different legends.
This included a spot where Cena hit Styles with Bray Wyatt’s Sister Abigail, and the crowd responded by waving their phones’ lights in the crowd. In the end, Cena and Styles hugged it out after the match and praised one another in the ring.
