Ecology North’s 2025 Waste Reduction Week includes a waste-themed trivia night, a candied fruit workshop, textile repair and a clothing and book swap.
The Yellowknife-based non-profit released the schedule for the week, which runs from October 21-26, on its Facebook page, where venue and timing details are also provided.

Other events include a waste forum at Northern United Place and a cardboard clay workshop.
“Waste reduction is a form of climate action. These days, we all need to take climate action both individually and collectively,” Ecology North’s executive director, Dawn Tremblay, was quoted as saying in a news release.
“Our aim is to encourage waste reduction practices through these events. Nationally, circular economy month is being celebrated, and Waste Reduction Week is a way to participate locally.”
All events are free to attend.
