A championship changed hands during the opening contest of tonight’s TNA Bound for Glory 2025 event.
TNA’s biggest pay-per-view of the year kicked off with the International Championship match, as Frankie Kazarian defended the gold against the same man he won the title from at TNA Victory Road: Steve Maclin.
Maclin, who had his mother sat in the front row, started aggressive out the gate, jumping Kazarian with a suicide dive whilst Kazarian was making his entrance before the bell rang to begin the match.
Shortly afterwards things spilled back to the outside of the ring as Kazarian hit a big Sunset Flip Powerbomb to the outside, he would then get in the face of Maclin’s mother, only to get flipped off for doing so.
Perhaps in response to AJ Styles’ tribute to him during his match with John Cena at WWE Crown Jewel, Frankie Kazarian produced a Pele Kick reminiscent of “The Phenomenal One”, before then paying tribute to former tag team partner Christopher Daniels with the Angels Wings.
In the end though it was Maclin who picked up the win, delivering the KIA to regain the International Championship just 16 days after losing it.
