Niang, initially routed from Atlanta to Boston in the Kristaps Porzingis trade, was shipped on to Utah as the Celtics continued maneuvering against the luxury tax. Having previously spent four years with the Jazz, Niang should provide a veteran presence as they continue to rebuild. Last season, he averaged a career-high 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 40.6% on 5.2 3-point attempts nightly in 79 games for the Cavaliers and Hawks.
