AZUSA, Calif. – Luis Solis was named PacWest Player of the Week after scoring the winning goal in the Cougars 1-0 defeat over Chaminade and dishing out an assist in the 3-2 triumph over HPU. Solis has been a key offensive contributor this season, ranking second on the Cougars with 11 points and sitting eighth in the PacWest overall. To date, the senior has scored 5 goals and tallied one assist.

Here is what the PacWest had to say about its selection:

“Azusa Pacific’s Luis Solis scored the game winning goal during a 1-0 win over Chaminade and added an assist during a Cougar win over Hawaii Pacific. Solis broke open a 0-0 deadlock in the 85 minute against the Silverswords and assisted on the go-ahead score in APU’s 3-2 nail bitter against the Sharks. The senior’s work helped his team improve to 3-0 in PacWest play, pushing the Cougars to their fourth straight win after a 0-5-1 start. The fourth-year Cougar, who had four goals and three assists in 2024, already has five goals in the 2025 campaign.”
