The Orillia District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Orillia’s Got Talent will conclude with a final showdown of local performers this weekend during the Mardi Gras celebrations at the Port of Orillia.
The entire community is invited to come out and celebrate the incredible talent that exists here in Orillia and Lake Country. After two exciting preliminary rounds, the top performers are moving on to the grand finale, happening this Saturday, July 26, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the gazebo at the Port of Orillia.
Presented by the Orillia District Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Max 89.1, and sponsored by MD Marine Insurance and the City of Orillia, this exciting event has quickly become a summer favourite for residents and visitors alike. From aspiring singers and musicians to dancers, magicians, comedians, and variety acts, the range of talent has been inspiring, diverse, and wildly entertaining.
With a grand prize of a $1,000 paid gig at the popular Orillia Pirate Party on the line, the stakes have never been higher. Finalists from the July 5 and July 12 preliminary rounds will now take the stage one last time, competing for the title of Orillia’s most talented.
“We’ve been absolutely blown away by the level of talent we’ve seen so far,” said Allan Lafontaine, executive director of the Orillia District Chamber of Commerce. “From young kids just starting out to seasoned performers, everyone brought their A game. The finals promise to be an unforgettable experience.”
Spectators are encouraged to arrive early and bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show in comfort. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Lake Couchiching, the Port of Orillia provides a perfect summer setting, complete with a sandy beach, waterfront playground, and scenic boardwalk. The event is free and family-friendly, making it a fantastic way to spend a summer evening with loved ones. The weekend is also Mardi Gras in July at the Port of Orillia, so spectators can expect to also see some creatively decorated boats and New Orleans-style revelry.
Whether you’re cheering on a neighbour, supporting a family member, or just looking for great local entertainment, Orillia’s Got Talent offers a vibrant, community-centred celebration of the arts. It’s also a powerful platform for performers of all ages and experience levels to step into the spotlight and shine.
