LARCHWOOD, Iowa — The Minnesota State men’s golf team finished the USF Invitational in ninth place Tuesday.
The two-round USF Invitational was held at the par-72 Grand Falls Golf Course. The Mavericks shot a 293-325—618 (+42) to finish in ninth place. Winona State finished first in the team standings with scores of 282-301–568 (+7). Sioux Falls’ Charlie Hanson took first place in the individual standings with scores of 76-75—143 (-1).
Senior Hogan Ordal shot a 79 in round two as he finished the event in 12th place at +6. Ordal notched two birdies on the back nine in round two. Junior Karson Patten also shot a 79 in round two as he finished one stroke back of Ordal in 16th place at +7. Patten tallied one birdie as well.
Freshman San Swavely shot an 81 on the final day as he finished 44th at +14, while sophomore Michael Johnson posted an 86 in round two to finish the invitational at +20. Senior Ryan Darling shot a 93 in round two to finish the trip at +22.
Minnesota State wraps up the fall portion of is schedule on Oct. 27-28 as it takes part in the Tulsa Cup at The Club at Indian Springs in Broken Arrow, Okla.
