WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Girls soccer was dominating the local landscape on this Wednesday.

Girls Frontier League soccer from Watertown High, the Cyclones hosting Indian River.

Wolves strike first when Julia De La Cruz comes up with the loose ball and dents the net, Indian River on top 1-nothing.

A bit later, the Wolves add to their lead when Meghan Jones takes the nice feed and splits the pipes, 2-nothing Wolves.

Indian River goes on to beat Watertown 7-3.

Under the lights in Dextr, General Brown meets Lowville in another girls’ Frontier League soccer battle.

2nd half, 1-nothing Lowville when Veronica Ryan redirects the cross and rips yarn, 2-nothing Red Raiders.

Samantha Reynolds would record the shutout in goal for Lowville.

Red Raiders blank General Brown 3-nothing.

In Sackets Harbor, the Patriots are hosting IHC in another girls Frontier League soccer matchup.

Only 1 goal in the 1st half, Elliana Brooks connects, putting the Patriots on top 1-nothing at the half.

But Anna Stacy would score in the 2nd half to tie it and in overtime to win it for the Cavaliers.

IHC beats Sackets Harbor 2-1 in overtime.

NAC GIRLS soccer action, it’s Canton at Potsdam.

Canton quickly grabbed the lead when Kailin Backus fired off the goaltender’s hand and into the net in the third minute. 1-0 Golden Bears.

Four minutes later, Olivia Francey, on the charge, also ripped yarn. 2-0 Canton.

On a corner kick, in the scrum, JV call-up Mary Sergi redirected the third goal.

On a partial break, Potsdam’s Jilliana Sullivan gets a shot on net, but keeper Callie Tebo scoops up one of her eight saves.

On a Potsdam turnover, Jenna Larrabee set up Backus, who scooted behind the defense and scored at close range. 4-0 Bears.

On Backus’ dropback feed, Elena Abplanalp scored the game’s final goal.

Canton blanks Potsdam 5-nothing.

Men’s college soccer under the lights at JCC, the Cannoneers hosting Cayuga.

Cayuga would control play in the 1st half, with Cannoneers goalie Karim Saleh busy the first 45 minutes.

Cayuga would take a 1-nothing lead to the half and score 3 more in the 2nd half, beating JCC by a final score of 4-nothing.
