The Milwaukee Bucks are keeping one of the best sharpshooters in the league around for the long haul.

Guard A.J. Green has signed a four-year, $45 million extension to remain with the Bucks, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday.

He was set to become a free agent after this season but will now be under contract through the 2029-30 campaign.

Green, after joining the Bucks as an undrafted free agent in 2022, has become a solid role player for the side, excelling as a three-point specialist.

He averaged 7.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists last season while shooting 42.7 per cent from beyond the arc on five attempts a game. He also shot 44.9 per cent on catch-and-shoot three-pointers.

The Bucks leaned on him more in the playoffs, and the Cedar Falls, Iowa, native responded with 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 51.4 per cent from deep on seven attempts a game.
