TORONTO — After being sidelined since the end of summer league — missing training camp and most of the preseason with a foot injury — Nets rookie Egor Dëmin finally got to make his delayed debut Friday against the Raptors.
But even as teammates gushed over the lottery pick — predicting he’s going to be a “problem” — both Dëmin and the staff are trying to avoid heaping too much pressure on the teenager.
“You know there’s going to be a moment of just getting back to the rhythm,” Dëmin told The Post. “Obviously, four practices back is not the same as the rest of the group that was practicing for two months straight.
“I’m approaching it in a way of learning and getting back to condition and just getting back to the group, trying to understand who is who and why we’re doing it in general. So for me, I’m not trying [to press]. I’m going to try to play my best, but I’m not trying to save the world. I’m trying to really get back to the rhythm.”
