See a master club fitter to have your clubs adjusted.

Over half of the weekend, golfers could improve their handicap by adjusting the lie to better fit their needs. It is the one thing many amateurs overlook.

First and foremost, the lie must be checked while the club is in motion. Checking the lie in the static position is worthless. The shaft’s flex must be considered in the equation — a soft shaft flex can force the toe of the club downward at impact, causing the ball to fly to the right.

A stiffer shaft may cause the club to contact the ground first, forcing the ball to pull to the left. The lie can be corrected by bending them on a loft and lie machine.

Both of these problems increase accuracy.
