A woman has died and a man is injured after a single-vehicle crash along Eglinton Avenue West early Saturday morning, Toronto police say.
In a post to social media, officials say officers were called to the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Bicknell Avenue at around 2 a.m. for reports of a vehicle that had slammed into a pole.
Police say a man in his 20s, who was driving the vehicle, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. However, a female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and Eglinton Avenue West remains closed between Black Creek Drive and Keele Street.
