The Toronto Raptors have filled their final two-way spot with a familiar, hometown face.

Lawson was converted from a two-way contract to a non-guaranteed standard NBA deal worth $2.4 million over two years on April 11 last season.

The 25-year-old averaged 9.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 26 games for the Raptors last season. He notably scored a career-high 32 points against the Washington Wizards on March 10 and followed with a 28-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers in Toronto’s next game.

Lawson, raised in Brampton, Ont., also spent ample time with the Raptors 905 last season, where he led the team in scoring with 19.6 points per game, shot 38 per cent from three and added 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He was the affiliate team’s representative at the G League Next Up game at NBA All-Star Weekend.

A player on a two-way contract is eligible to play up to 50 NBA games and can move freely between the NBA squad and its G League affiliate.
