Pearce Dietrich helps you build your DraftKings Pick6 pick sets for the NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 at Talladega.

The NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 at Talladega is on Sunday, and DraftKings is offering a new way to play fantasy NASCAR. The game is simple. Build a “Pick Set” (2+ drivers) and decide if they will outperform their stat projections. Here is some advice to help build your DraftKings Pick6 Pick Sets for the NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 at Talladega.

Daniel Suarez – Finishing Position: 10.5

Pick6 Play: Worse

This is a sportsbook week, but the Pick6 game can still be profitable. The book is best suited for those seeking a substantial payout. Pick6 is a hedge — a safer route to closing out a profitable weekend. The strategy can be summarized in a flow chart: Step 1, select a driver who survives the chaos. Step 2: Pick the driver who beats the survivors. Sportsbook bets require both steps. Pick6 picks, for the most part, require only Step 1.

Daniel Suarez is out at Trackhouse. The former Xfinity Series Champion and two-time Cup Series winner has amicably parted ways with the Nashville-based race team. Suarez’s future is uncertain, but recent interviews suggest he has something lined up. That’s good news and bad news. Talladega will be one of his last dances — and last chances — for another win with Trackhouse Racing. It’s all or nothing. That’s a great strategy for earning a DNF at a superspeedway. Some drivers passively avoid the big one. Others are the big ones. Suarez seems to be the latter.

William Byron – Finishing Position: 7.5

Pick6 Play: Better

Do superspeedway stats matter? Isn’t it just a matter of luck? Half of the field gets collected in wrecks. But if a driver consistently avoids crash after crash and strings together solid finishes, then there’s something more to it than luck. That’s what Byron has been able to do. The Hendrick driver has finished seventh or better in five straight races at Talladega and has earned a top-15 finish in nine of the last ten. Byron also won the Daytona 500 in both 2024 and 2025.

What is DraftKings Pick6?

Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of 2+ players and select whether or not you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection. Enter your Pick Set in Pick6 contests to compete against other users. Get enough picks correct and win a share of cash prizes.

How to Play

Create a Pick Set

Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of set competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice and you must pick players from at least two different teams.

Enter an Amount

Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.

Sweat Your Picks

When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.

Compete for Prizes

Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
