Chris Jericho Leaving AEW & Joining WWE Update

WWE/AEW

A new update has emerged from AEW CEO Tony Khan on the possibility of Chris Jericho leaving the promotion and returning to WWE.

Jericho has been absent from AEW since April with his contract coming up at the end of the year, with the belief being that he’ll exit the company and return to WWE.

Appearing on Busted Open today, Tony Khan provided the latest update on Jericho’s status. He said:

“I love Chris Jericho. He’s a huge part of AEW. He’s been here since the beginning. I think we’ll see what happens here in the coming months. But Chris is always a welcome big part of AEW we’d always wanna have here.

“I absolutely am so grateful to Chris Jericho for everything he’s done. And you mentioned that AEW book looking at the history, Chris Jericho is a huge a part of that history. The very first AEW World Champion and somebody who’s now a nine-time world champion, and has won several of those championships here with us.

“So I am very, very grateful to Chris, and Chris is always a very welcome huge part of AEW.”
