CM Punk’s Opponent For Vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship At Saturday Night’s Main Event Confirmed

WWE

The man facing CM Punk for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 has now been confirmed.

At the start of tonight’s WWE Raw, Adam Pearce announced that Seth Rollins had been stripped of the World Heavyweight Title due to undergoing “major surgery.”

Via his win in a #1 contender’s three-way last week against LA Knight and Jey Uso, CM Punk is still owed a title shot, and will get it at SNME.

Pearce announced that his opponent in that match would be determined in an over the top battle royal in the main event of tonight’s show.

The lineup was confirmed as being Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, LA Knight, AJ Styles, Dragon Lee, Sheamus, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Kofi Kingston, Grayson Waller, Akira Tozawa, Otis, El Grande Americano, Ivar, Rusev and Penta.

However, later in the show before the battle royal, Pearce announced that Breakker and Reed were being removed, leaving the field at the other 17.

The final four came down to LA Knight, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and Dominik Mysterio – the later of which had actually already been thrown out with both feet touching the floor, but got back in after the referees didn’t see it.

Jimmy had saved Jey from elimination a couple of times, but when it came down to it, Jey eliminated both Jimmy and Knight at the same time, leaving Jimmy irate at ringside.

That meant it came down to Jey and Dominik Mysterio, with Jey ultimately picking up the victory.

It will be CM Punk vs Jey Uso At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Punk got into the ring for a brief face-to-face with Jey after the match.
