LĪHU’E, Kaua’i – University of Hawai’i women’s golfer Jasmine Wong carded a final round even par 72 to finish in a tie for 18th place at the 28th Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Ocean Course at Hokuala.
 
Wong posted her second consecutive 72 for a 2-over 218 total and her second career Top 20 finish. The Honolulu native helped the Rainbow Wahine move up a spot in the team standings into a tie for 14th place. UH shot a final round 5-over 293 for an 892 total.
 
Baylor shot 277 to win the team title at 851 for its third RWI championship since 2021. Missouri and Santa Clara tied for runner-up at 860. Baylor’s Yurang Li captured medalist honors at 12-under 204 after a final round 7-under 65.
 
Maline Kraus also carded 72 to share team-best honors with Wong on the day. The Düsseldorf, Germany native finished the tournament at 5-over 221 and a tie for 32nd place. Rounding out the UH contingent were Chloe Ku (75=225; t-54th), Emiko Sverduk (74=228; t-70th), and Kaydence Kim (87=250; 110th).
 
Three others competed as individuals – Sofina Firouzi (76=227; t-62nd), Varnika S. Achanta (78=230; t-85th), and Wendy Song, the latter of whom withdrew the final two rounds.
 
UH closes out its fall season with Nanea Invitational, Oct. 27-29 at Nanea Golf Club in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i.
