What you’ll get is a smart trainer at a bargain price that offers most of the functionality of the more expensive Wahoo Kickr v6. The main specs include 16% slope simulation, +/- 2% power measurement, and 1800w max resistance. What’s new to the Kickr Core 2 is that there’s also WiFi connectivity and a race mode with faster data transmission plus a slight revision to the legs for easier setup.
Along with the trainer itself, this is the Zwift Cog and Click version. Instead of dealing with a cassette there’s just a single speed cog that will work with most drivetrains on a bike plus allows switching whenever you want. That works because you won’t actually use the shifting on your bike anymore and will instead shift with Zwift Click controllers that easily mount to your bars. They also make it easy to interact with the Zwift interface.
Also, don’t worry if you ever want to use something besides Zwift. The way the trainer comes you can only shift in Zwift but any software that uses the system in ERG mode doesn’t require shifting and works just fine. If you decide you want to actually shift without Zwift you can always swap in a cassette and you are good to go.
