The Washington Commanders will be without quarterback Jayden Daniels for Monday night’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Daniels was officially ruled out on Thursday with a low-grade hamstring strain after he suffered the injury early in the second half of their Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Head coach Dan Quinn said the injury is not significant or long term and that the team wanted Daniels to focus on rehabbing to be ready for Week 9..

Daniels missed Weeks 3 and 4 with a knee injury and returned for a win and a loss in Weeks 5 and 6, respectively.
Marcus Mariota will get the start in place of Daniels. He has appeared in three games this season, throwing for 426 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions with a 60.3% completion percentage.

Jackson suffered the injury on Sept. 28 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He had not practiced until Wednesday.
The two-time MVP has missed Baltimore’s past two games as the Ravens have dropped to 1-5. Head coach John Harbaugh said after a Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams that he expected Jackson to return to face the Chicago Bears following the bye week.

The Los Angeles Chargers are officially listing OT Joe Alt as questionable for Week 8’s “Thursday Night Football” matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. He was listed as “limited” in each of the team’s practices (including a walkthrough on Wednesday) this week after missing the past three games with an ankle injury. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport
Alt moved from right to left tackle after a season-ending injury to Rashawn Slater, but it hasn’t fazed Alt, who’s given up just three total pressures on 133 pass-blocking opportunities per PFF, earning himself the fourth-highest pass-blocking grade among offensive tackles this season.
If available, his presence could be just what the team needs to bounce back after dropping three of its last four games, with its only win coming against the 1-6 Miami Dolphins in that span.
Quarterback Justin Herbert is averaging 6.6 yards per attempt, a 7-5 TD-INT ratio and 88.0 passer rating without Alt on the field compared to 7.7 yards per attempt, a 6-1 TD-INT ratio and 103.7 passer rating with him on it so far in 2025, per NFL Next Gen Stats.
The team is also listing safety Elijah Molden (thumb), right tackle Trey Pipkins III (knee), and linebacker Troy Dye (thumb) as questionable. The Chargers have already ruled out running back Hassan Haskins with a hamstring injury.
