During the past couple of weeks, the NMU Men’s soccer team has been traveling around the Midwest as they compete against GLIAC teams. Currently, the Wildcats are 4-4-5 on the season.
Late last week, the Wildcats kicked off this road trip as they again took on Davenport. The Wildcats hosted Davenport the weekend and game prior, where the Cats were able to tie 1-1 with Davenport. The Wildcat’s goal in the game was scored by junior forward Luca Rosen. Heading into Davenport the Wildcats were prepared, but in the end were unable to come away with a second win over Davenport, falling 3-1. In this game, senior forward Triston Nelson came away with the goal.
Coming off the loss to Davenport, the Cats set their sights on the other team they played previously, Saginaw Valley. The team looked to get the win again after hosting the Cardinals the week prior, where the Cats got the win 1-0 in front of the home crowd. The goal in last week’s win came from Rosen again.
Unfortunately, the Wildcats were unable to come away with the win against Saginaw Valley, falling to the GLIAC rival 3-0.

Reeling from the back-to-back losses, the Cats got back on the bus, this time headed down to Wisconsin to take on Parkside on Wednesday afternoon. In the previous game between these two teams this season, it ended with Parkside on top, 3-1.
This time around, it was all defense, with the game ending in a 0-0 tie after all 90 minutes of regulation.
After the multiple away games, the Wildcats will be back home starting this Sunday, Oct. 26, as they are set to host St. Cloud.
Following the St. Cloud game, the Wildcats will play their final weekend of the regular season. Next week, the Cats will play the final games of the regular season against Roosevelt and Purdue Northwest.
