Knicks crush Celtics on the boards, win by 10
Jalen Brunson delivered 31 points (10-20 FG, 8-9 FT), while a 26-point, 13-rebound double-double from Karl-Anthony Towns and 14 rebounds (six offensive rebounds) from Josh Hart fueled a 105-95 victory over the Celtics on Friday.
Jaylen Brown led Boston with 23 points (9-18 FG), but seven turnovers stands out as a damaging figure on a night when the Celtics only had 15 turnovers as a team. The Knicks capitalized better in that regard, notching 23 points off turnovers compared to Boston’s 16.

In just 17 minutes, Luka Dončić is up to 32 points (9-14 FG, 10-12 FT), propelling a 68-63 lead for the Lakers at the break. Anthony Edwards (15 points) and the Timberwolves have no plans to watch quietly, but the momentum has shifted entirely since Minnesota’s 11-point lead early in the contest.
Julie’s Randall has 14 points (5-9 FG), six rebounds and four assists. Austin Reaves is the only Laker besides Dončić with double-digit scoring, supplying 12 points (5-10 FG).

Cleveland survives Brooklyn comeback
In a game that Cleveland led wire-to-wire with a biggest lead of 25 at one point, Brooklyn cut the deficit to one with 3:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Key events that follow include a Evan Mobley offensive rebound and dump off to Jarrett Allen, a Jarrett Allen strip of Nicolas Claxton into Donovan Mitchell free throws, and both sides running out of gas after a booming night.
Donovan Mitchell led all scorers with 35 points (10-15 FG, 9-12 FT), although he trailed tightly by Cam Thomas’s 33 points (12-23 FG) as well as 31 points from Michael Porter Jr. (13-22 FG).
Jarrett Allen and Sam Merrill each tacked on 22 points for Cleveland. Second-year swingman Jaylon Tyson started and put forth a solid two-way effort while Darius Garland (toe) remains unavailable.

Trae Young seals the deal in Hawks win
In a tight game separated only by a big Orlando run in the second quarter, Atlanta responded with a 33-21 fourth quarter advantage to emerge with a 111-107 victory on the road.
Jalen Suggs (11 points, 4-5 FG) tied the game at 107 off a tough left-handed driving layout with under a minute remaining. Trae Young proceeded to respond immediately, drawing a foul on Wendell Carter Jr. and sinking both free throws.
Stifling defense and a key deflection by Dyson Daniels on Desmond Bane prevented Bane from getting a shot off, leading to low-percentage Paolo Banchero three-point miss on what was ultimately Orlando’s final possession.
Ice Trae iced the game with two more made free throws, as the Hawks earn the W on a night when both teams to 28% shooting from beyond the arc.
Young’s 25 points (7-18 FG, 10-12 FT) led Atlanta, while Franz Wagner’s 27 points (10-17 FG) represented the game-high scoring total. Orlando was plagued by 21 turnovers in the defeat.

Raining KATs and 3s
Karl-Anthony Towns has three 3PM including this 4-point play opportunity as the Knicks and Celtics are in a tight duel late in the first quarter on Amazon Prime.
A subtle storyline for the Knicks this season could be Towns’ three-point volume, as the prolific shooting big dipped to just 4.7 attempts per game last season — representing his fewest since 2018 despite 35.0 minutes per game representing his highest total since 2017.

In addition to good ball movement and transition opportunities, defense to offense has been the storyline for the Raptors. Stout perimeter pressure has helped force 12 Milwaukee turnovers at the midway point.
Giannis Antetokounmpo leads all scorers and is on pace for a monster double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds thus far.
