Several players from both the ATP and WTA tours have called an early end to their 2025 seasons.
The tennis calendar has been heavily criticised recently, with top stars such as Iga Swiatek calling the schedule ‘crazy’.
Following Holger Rune’s Achilles injury, both Jack Draper and Taylor Fritz called for change on the tour, and the American stated that injuries and burnout are occurring more now than ever before.
A flurry of players have seen their campaigns come to an end lately, including Emma Raducanu, Barbora Krejcikova, Borna Coric, and Marketa Vondrousova.

The indoor hard court season has seen a number of withdrawals already, with Felix Auger-Aliassime and Casper Ruud pulling out of the Swiss Indoors in Basel on the same day.
Now, a top 30 ATP player appears to have become the latest to add himself to the growing list of premature ends to the season.
Stefanos Tsitsipas appears to call an end to his 2025 ATP season
Stefanos Tsitsipas recently withdrew from the Paris Masters, and the Greek star took to social media to explain why.
In a post on X, Tsitsipas said: “Hi everyone. Unfortunately, I’ll be withdrawing from the Rolex Paris Masters this year.
“I’ve always enjoyed competing there and truly appreciate the great support from the Parisian and French fans over the years.
“My focus now is on recovery and healing, so I can come back stronger for the 2026 season. Thank you all for your understanding and continued support.”
Tsitsipas has been dealing with a back injury, which has seen him sidelined for the entirety of the Asian swing.
Outside of his brief appearance at the Six Kings Slam exhibition event in Saudi Arabia, his last tour-level match was at the US Open, which he crashed out of in the second round.
The former world number three was scheduled to play at the new-look ATP 250 event in Athens as well as the Paris Masters.

At the start of the year, Tsitsipas was ranked 11th in the world, and he briefly re-entered the top ten in March and April, clinching a season high of 8th after winning the Dubai Tennis Championships.
Then, however, the 27-year-old fell outside the top 20 for the first time since 2018 following a second-round exit at Roland Garros.
Tsitsipas hired Goran Ivanisevic after his early exit in Paris, but he did not see results improve with the Croatian in his corner, having lost in the first round of Wimbledon.
His ranking fell to as low as 30 in July, and Tsitsipas is now currently ranked 25th in the world.
