Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Chris Streveler exited Saturday’s contest against the Montreal Alouettes in the first quarter with an apparent lower-body injury.
Streveler attempted to escape the pocket with Winnipeg backed up on their own 19-yard line, and appeared to tweak something in in his leg while cutting back inside on an incoming tackle from Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund
The 30-year-old pivot immediately went down and was seen clutching his left knee while Winnipeg’s training staff came onto the field.
He was helped back to the sideline, and was replaced under centre by Terry Wilson.
Streveler got the start for the Blue Bombers in place of Zach Collaros, who did not dress for Saturday’s game alongside a number of Winnipeg starters being rested by head coach Mike O’Shea in the regular season finale.
A native of Crystal Lake, Ill., Streveler completed one pass for 13 yards before departing.
The four-year CFL veteran has dressed in 17 games for the Blue Bombers this season, completing 92-of-144 pass attempts for 1,090 yards, six touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, also adding 301 yards and nine scores on the ground.
