Residents in the City of Dauphin are being made aware that a Dutch Elm Disease survey and Elm Firewood monitoring is currently taking place.

Provincial inspectors are making their way around both public and private properties to look for Dutch Elm Disease-infected trees and elm firewood with bark attached, which is illegal to store.

The Inspectors, who will be wearing high-visibility vests and government-issued identification, may be working in the evenings and on weekends.

They will ring doorbells or knock on doors, prior to taking any branch samples, marking Dutch Elm Disease-infected trees, or marking elm firewood for removal
