Guelph police have issued a warning to the public after a high risk offender was released from custody for the third time in 12 months.
36 year old Medhani Yohans was released from custody by Guelph police on July 24, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
Guelph police said he has a history of violence, including two stranger sexual assaults. Police say he could pose a risk to the community, especially women. They add they are concerned he may commit similar offenses in the future.
He is described as a black male, 5’9″, with a thin build, black hair and brown eyes.

This marks the third time in 12 months that Yohans has been released from custody.
Back in August 2024, he was released by police in Toronto and was re-arrested after failing to check in with Guelph police.
On March 1 2025, Yohans was released for a second time and was later spotted on campus at the University of Guelph. He was re-arrested nine days later on March 10 after allegedly breaching a court order when he went near an address he was told to stay away from.
Anyone who sees him are asked not to approach him but to notify police to ensure he is abiding by his conditions.
