Here’s everything that went down at Gillette Stadium as New England picks up their fifth straight victory.

The Browns won the toss and deferred, putting Drake Maye and the Patriots offense on the field to begin Sunday. Runs by TreVeyon Henderson and Drake Maye picked up three sets of first downs to quickly set the offense up outside of the red zone. There they faced a third-down in which Maye found Stevenson out wide to move the chains again. Then set-up with a following third-down inside the 10-yard line, Myles Garrett beat chip help to get home for a sack. Andy Borregales’ 36-yard field goal was good. [Patriots 3 : 0 Browns]

New England’s defense saw the Browns overcome an opening third-and-11 as Gabriel found an open Harold Fannin Jr. as Marte Mapu was picked in coverage running across the middle. A reverse to Jamari Thrash then broke for 31 yards to set up Cleveland in the red zone. One play later, Gabriel found Fannin Jr. wide open for an 18-yard touchdown. [Patriots 3 : 7 Browns]

The Patriots turned to the run game on their second possession of the game with three straight carries for Rhamondre Stevenson — the last being stuffed on third-and-short leading to a punt.

An opening pass to Thrash went for 10 yards and a first-down, but that was the success Cleveland found on their second possession. Brining pressure on third-down, Gabriel’s pass was incomplete with Carlton Davis tight in coverage at the sticks.

Backed up inside their own 20, New England founding some breathing room as Maye connected with Kayshon Boutte for 15 yards off a play-action bootleg. A second-down sack by Alex Wright off the left side forced New England into a third-and-9, where Maye’s pass over the middle went right into the arms of Carson Schwesigner for an interception.

Cleveland took over at the New England 34-yard line following the pick and immediately faced a third-down. Isaiah Bond snuck behind the defense but a late pass allowed for Marcus Jones to recover and force an incompletion. A 47-yard field goal then hooked wide left.

Back with the ball, Maye struck down the middle of the field on a 31-yard pass to Austin Hooper before layering a corner route to Mack Hollins for 21 more. Facing a third-down inside the 10, Maye could not find a receiver and was brought down for a sack. Borregales field goal was good. [Patriots 6 : 7 Browns]

Two runs from rookie Quinshon Judkins set up the Browns with a third-and-four, where Gabriel’s pass to Bond was broken up by Marcus Jones. Cleveland then punted.

A third-down false start on Mike Onwenu forced a third-and-six instead of a short yardage situation, where Maye’s pass downfield to Boutte fell incomplete.

Cleveland’s first play of their next drive saw Thrash catch-and-run for 21 yards before a flea flicker attempt was blown up by New England’s front. Then facing a third-and-14 after a run stuff, a double pass attempt led to the initial receiver taking it himself for just three yards.

On third-down on the other side of the two-minute warning, Maye left the pocket and found a wide open DeMario Douglas downfield for a 44-yard catch-and-run. A strip sack by Myles Garrett — which Jared Wilson recovered — and false start by Hunter Henry pushed things backwards, however, which led to a third-and-23 pass to Boutte over the middle for 21 yards. Facing fourth-and-two at the 24-yard line, Vrabel elected to run the clock to two seconds and attempt a field goal — which Borregales connected on from 42 yards. [Patriots 9 : 7 Browns]

The Browns started the second half with the football and were quickly set-up with a third-and-9 — where Gabriel worked to his left before firing an incompletion to Fannin.

TreVeyon Henderson got to work on the Patriots first possession of the second-half, moving the chains with a six-yard run before breaking free on a toss for 27 yards down the right sideline. A toss to Stevenson then saw the back throw in back to Maye before the QB found Mack Hollins for 19 yards to move inside the red zone. Handing a reverse to DeMario Douglas then moved the unit inside the 10, where a play-action bootleg led to Maye finding Hunter Henry for a touchdown. [Patriots 16 : 7 Browns]

Now trailing by two possessions, Quinshon Judkins continued to be smothered by New England’s front seven. That unit then struck for the Patriots in a big way, as Gabriel’s third-down pass was right to Robert Spillane for an interception.

A 32-yard return by Spillane set the offense up with a goal-to-go situation. Finding themselves then at the one-yard line on third-down, Maye’s quick screen to Stefon Diggs resulted in a score. [Patriots 23 : 7 Browns]

Cleveland kept the offense on the field on a fourth-and-one at their own 24-yard line where a screen to Fannin picked up the necessary yardage. The next play, Gabriel uncorked one deep downfield which Jaylinn Hawkins tracked and impressively intercepted with one hand.

Gifted a new set of downs after a drawn hold by Pop Douglas downfield, the seas parted for Drake Maye as he took off for a 29-yard scramble. The next play, Maye lofted a deep shot to Kayshon Boutte who hauled it in for a 39-yard score. [Patriots 30 : 7 Browns]

A defensive holding penalty on Carlton Davis gave the Browns new life on an incomplete third-down pass. Moving across midfield behind a 20-yard catch-and-run by David Njoku, Gabriel then kept one himself under pressure to move Cleveland inside the red zone. New England’s defense then held strong as Gabriel’s fourth-down pass to Jerry Jeudy was incomplete with Christian Gonzalez in coverage.

Taking over at their own 13-yard line, New England went backwards as Maye was sacked on second-down leading to a third-down handoff. Bryce Baringer then mishit a punt that traveled just 15 yards.

Cleveland took back over already in plus-territory and needed just three plays to find the end zone as Gabriel found Njoku for an 11-yard score. The two-point conversation attempt was the incomplete with Marcus Jones tight in coverage and prying a ball loose on Fannin. [Patriots 30 : 13 Browns]

An onside kick attempt was recovered by New England with less than 10 minutes remaining. On third-and-12 after an OPI called on Diggs, a defensive pass interference penalty drawn by Diggs moved the chains in the Patriots favor. A play-action pass to Hollins picked up 19 yards as New England found themselves in the red zone again. Near the goal line, a hit on Henderson resulted with the ball on the ground which the Browns recovered.

Taking over at their one-yard line, an intentional grounding penalty occurred on Gabriel in the end zone which resulted in a safety. [Patriots 32 : 13 Browns]

An onside kick was recovered by the Browns allowing them to take over at their own 33-yard line with 4:05 remaining. New England’s pass rush got home on first-down as Anfernee Jennings cleaned up pressure by Christian Barmore and Milton Williams for a sack. A fourth-and-15 attempt was complete but short of the sticks.

New England took over and kept things moving on the ground with Terrell Jennings who picked up 15 yards on two carries to take it to the two-minute warning. Maye then kneeled out the clock.
