LAS CRUCES, N.M. (October 27, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University capped its fall women’s tennis slate with a competitive showing at the Aggie Invitational, hosted by New Mexico State at the NMSU Tennis Center. The Lady Chaps collected several quality singles and doubles wins against a field that included NCAA Division I and regional Division II programs, wrapping up the fall portion of the schedule with steady momentum heading into spring dual play.

Ana María Zorić and Kristel Jativa each earned their sixth singles victories of the fall—tied for the team lead—highlighting another consistent weekend for the veteran duo. Andrea De Bernardo and Aitanna Moreno Villa also recorded singles wins over regional foes from UTPB and Western New Mexico, while senior Axelle Jacquemin rallied for a three-set victory over UTPB’s Sophia Rashid before retiring in her next match. Oshini Herath contributed a straight-set win against WNMU’s Josefina Bailetti.

In doubles action, LCU debuted two new tandems that found early success. De Bernardo and Zorić teamed up for the first time this season and secured a 7-5 win over a Division I pairing from New Mexico, while Herath and Jacquemin combined for a 7-5 victory against UTPB’s Paige Sitanggang and Dinethya Dharmaratne. The pairings of Jativa and Valero Treviño, along with Alexandra Lüders and Hannah Quick, each battled through competitive matches, gaining valuable experience against high-level competition.

The Aggie Invitational marked LCU’s third and final event of the fall, concluding a developmental stretch that mixed Division I and Division II opposition. The Lady Chaps will now shift their focus toward preparation for the 2026 spring dual-match season.
