Jennifer Lawrence is looking back at early interviews from her career and admits that she thinks she was “annoying” back then.
The Oscar-winning actress won over a lot of fans at the beginning of her career thanks to her fun personality in interviews, but people eventually turned on her, accusing her of being fake.
In a new interview with The New Yorker, Jennifer says that her early interviews were “so hyper. So embarrassing.”

After being asked if it was “self-alienating” to have the world obsess over her personality, Jennifer said, “Well, it is, or it was, my genuine personality, but it was also a defense mechanism. And so it was a defense mechanism, to just be, like, ‘I’m not like that! I poop my pants every day!’”
Jennifer said, “I look at those interviews, and that person is annoying. I get why seeing that person everywhere would be annoying. Ariana Grande’s impression of me on ‘S.N.L.’ was spot-on.”
“I felt—I didn’t feel, I was, I think—rejected not for my movies, not for my politics, but for me, for my personality,” she added.
Jennifer is also opening up about the unusual source she’s been using for parenting advice.
