MT. PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan soccer team closed its 2025 season by falling in a 2-0 decision at Central Michigan University Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the CMU Soccer Complex.
Eastern, which had a chance to qualify for the Mid-American Conference Tournament entering Wednesday’s MAC matches, finished its season seventh in the conference standings.
How It Happened
Eastern had consistent pressure in the attacking third, generating 10 shots in the first half but was unable to break through in the opening 45 minutes.
After the intermission, the Chippewas produced increased offensive pressure, netting goals in the 63rd and 68th minutes.
EMU had two shots on goal in the final 22 minutes as it looked to get on the scoreboard but was unable to do so.

» Eastern moved to 6-8-4 overall (4-4-4 MAC) while Central Michigan moved to 1-14-3 overall (1-8-3 MAC).
» Eastern held a 17-8 advantage in shots and CMU edged EMU in corner kicks, 3-2.
» With her five saves Wednesday, redshirt junior Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) has 263 career saves and sits seventh in program history in the category.
» Junior Sarah Van Euwen (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) played all 90 minutes of the match. Van Euwen has played 90 minutes in 23-straight matches, extending to the last five contests of the 2024 season.
Historical Notes
» EMU leads the all-time series, 17-8-5. Eastern had won three-straight matches at CMU prior to Wednesday’s match, EMU’s first loss in Mt. Pleasant since 2017.
