The Milwaukee Bucks will be without their franchise player when they host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
The two-time MVP has had a remarkable start over the first four games of the schedule, averaging 36.3 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists, all of which would be career highs over a full season.
Antetokounmpo, 30, is in his 13th NBA season and has spent his entire career in Milwaukee. Yet there was speculation about Antetokounmpo’s future with the Bucks in the off-season due to their lack of recent playoff success.
Milwaukee was eliminated in five games in its first-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers last season, marking its third straight first-round playoff exit.
However, Antetokounmpo maintained his usual production, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists over 67 games. He finished second in scoring during 2024-25.
Antetokounmpo has two years left on his three-year, $186 million contract extension signed in October 2023. The deal includes a player option for the 2027-28 season.
