Cyclists and families will shine bright at Coolavin Park for Lexington’s fifth annual Glow Ride and dance party.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Cyclists and families are gearing up to glow for safety as Lexington’s fifth annual Glow Ride returns to Coolavin Park on Friday, Nov. 7.

Location: Coolavin ParkTime: 5–7:30 p.m. (ride begins at 6:30)Cost: Free and open to all ages

The free event, hosted by the city and the Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, encourages riders to light up their bikes and gear for an evening of fun and visibility on the road. Organizers say the event not only builds community spirit but also raises awareness about roadway safety as daylight hours get shorter in the fall.

The Glow Ride is held each year around Daylight Saving Time as a reminder to “Be seen. Be safe.” Participants are encouraged to decorate themselves and their bikes with lights, glow gear, and reflective materials to help promote safe cycling practices.

The evening will include safety stations with tire checks and repair demos, helmet decorating, reflective gear giveaways, bike checkouts on a first-come basis, and local food trucks.

When the ride wraps up, the fun continues back at Coolavin Park with a glow-in-the-dark dance party featuring music, foam glow sticks, exhibitors, and more. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just joining for fun, the Glow Ride offers a bright way to welcome the season and enjoy Lexington’s biking community.
