DALLAS – The Rice men’s tennis team opened the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge with a doubles win Friday.
The duo of Tommy Czaplinski and Rafael Botran defeated BYU’s Tygen Goldammer and Caden Hasler 6-3.
Botran followed with a hard-fought singles victory over Goldammer, bouncing back from a first-set loss to win 6-7, 7-6, 6-2.
The Owls return to action Saturday morning.
