ABBOTSFORD — Patients in traumatic or critical conditions may receive better care at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) after a significant donation by its Auxiliary.

The $74,000 donation secured two high-priority devices designed to facilitate quick responses and precise stabilization—a specialized hypothermia/hyperthermia blanket system and a rapid infuser pump.

“These items are game-changers in time-critical situations,” said the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation. “[T]he generosity of the Abbotsford Auxiliary ensures that medical teams have the best tools to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This support elevates the level of immediate care hospital teams can provide.”

A rapid infuser pump delivers large amounts of IV fluids and blood to trauma patients, while the specialized blanket helps regulate patient temperature.
