Why are the Blue Jays wearing the white-panel cap?
The Blue Jays are paying homage to the original.
When they came into existence in 1977, these were the hats they wore.
They hadn’t worn the hats in a long time before Sept. 25. But at that point, they had lost six out of seven.
That led to the hats getting broken back out. Closer Jeff Hoffman suggested the idea.

They wore them most of the way down the stretch.
The hats the Blue Jays are currently wearing hadn’t been worn since 2022, according to MLB.com.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said during the ALDS that he didn’t pack another hat.
The Blue Jays are committed to these caps, and they’ll try to win a title in them.
