Following a triumphant inaugural season – with Chelsea Gray’s Rose BC claiming the championship – Unrivaled is nearly prepared for its sophomore campaign. The 3-on-3 basketball league unveiled its roster Thursday afternoon. Featured was Seattle Storm newcomer Dominique Malonga, the second selection in the 2025 WNBA draft.

Following a challenging beginning, the French phenom ultimately secured a regular role and concluded the season posting 7.7 points per contest on 55% field goal accuracy across 14.6 minutes nightly.

During the draft, ESPN commentator Chine Ogwumike labeled her a “steal” at the second selection.

Malonga holds contracts with both the Storm and Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce, having inked a three-year agreement with the Istanbul-based organization prior to being drafted.

Fenerbahce protested that Malonga broke her contract without proper justification this fall.

The organization published a heated social media statement Monday declaring they will pursue legal remedies, reports the Mirror US.

“Dominique Malonga, a player of our Fenerbahçe Opet Women’s Basketball Team, has unilaterally terminated her professional player contract with our club without any just cause,” the club posted on X Monday.

“We inform the public that we will exercise all our legal rights to seek compensation for any material and moral damages incurred by our club during this process.”

In 1997, the WNBA established a “Letter of Clearance” provision that permitted players to ink agreements with both domestic (WNBA) and overseas organizations (which frequently provide more profitable contracts).

Malonga needs a clearance letter from the Turkish Basketball Federation to compete for the Storm in 2026.

Next season’s specifics remain unfinalized due to the ongoing WNBA CBA dispute.

Angel Reese was part of the championship Rose BC squad but won’t be returning for a second campaign. Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark sat out last year citing exhaustion from an extensive 2024 schedule, and she won’t be joining the league in 2026.
