The New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans’ matching four-game losing streaks put them at the top of the projected 2026 NFL draft order after Sunday.
Both the Saints and Titans lost by double digits on three occasions during the current losing streaks, a sign that neither team is turning the corner anytime soon.
New Orleans, Tennessee and the New York Jets are the only one-win teams left in the NFL. The Jets dropped down to the No. 3 pick in the projected order because they have one fewer loss due to their Week 9 bye.
Updated 2026 NFL Draft Order
Not even a change at quarterback could help the Saints recover from their awful start. The Tyler Shough era began with a 34-10 loss to the Los Angeles Ram.
New Orleans is on the road at the Carolina Panthers next week before a Week 11 bye. The games don’t get easier after that, though. The schedule relief doesn’t occur until Weeks 16 and 17, when the Saints play the Jets and Titans.
After a Week 10 bye, Tennessee plays three straight home games. That’s the most ideal stretch of schedule for Cam Ward and Co. to pick up victories before the Week 17 clash with the Saints.
The Titans displayed some promise in Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. That was only the third time the Titans hit the 20-point mark this season.
If the Titans show some improvements out of the bye, they have a chance to beat one of the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars at home.
The Jets have the opportunity to carry over momentum from before the bye in Week 10 at home against the Cleveland Browns. The schedule is more daunting after that, so if the Jets don’t beat Cleveland, they might be a lock for a top-three pick.
The Miami Dolphins, New York Giants and other two-win teams need New Orleans, Tennessee and the Jets to do something positive in the coming weeks to have a shot at competing for the No. 1 overall pick.
